Hair Stylist Assistant Job Description

We're seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Hair Stylist Assistant to support our talented team of stylists. As a Hair Stylist Assistant, you'll provide exceptional customer service, assist stylists

with daily tasks, and maintain a clean and organized salon environment.

 

*Responsibilities:*

 

1. Assist stylists with:

  •    Shampooing and conditioning

  •    Coloring and chemical treatments

  •   Styling and finishing

    - Maintaining a clean and organized workstation

2. Provide exceptional customer service:

  •    Greet clients and offer refreshments

  •    Manage client flow and scheduling

  •    Handle client inquiries and concerns

3. Maintain salon cleanliness and organization:

  •    Clean equipment and tools

  •    Restock supplies and products

  •   Maintain tidy reception and waiting areas

4. Support salon operations:

  •   Answer phone calls and respond to messages

  •   Assist with scheduling and booking appointments

  •   Process transactions and handle cash handling

5. Develop skills and knowledge:

  •    Participate in training sessions and workshops

  •    Stay up-to-date with latest hair trends and techniques

 

*Requirements:*

 

1. Cosmetology student or recent graduate

2. 0-2 years of experience in a salon environment

3. Excellent communication and customer service skills

4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

5. Physical stamina to stand for long periods

6. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

 

*Preferred Qualifications:*

 

1. Cosmetology license (or in progress)

2. Experience with salon software and management systems

3. Knowledge of hair types, textures, and styling techniques

4. Certification in specialized areas (e.g., color correction, extensions)
